Strategy
Penguin Random House (PRH) is the international home to more than 300 editorially and creatively independent publishing imprints with a mission to ignite a universal passion for reading by creating books for everyone.
PRH believe that books, and the stories and ideas they hold, have the unique capacity to connect us, change us, and carry us toward a better future.
Since 2019, PRH have worked with TDC on their end-of-year creative marketing campaigns that highlight this mission and promote the joy of reading.
Our work has been instrumental in supporting internal reputation and awareness of the work undertaken by the Creative Strategy team.
TDC was initially appointed to raise awareness of ‘Books make us better’, a unique creative marketing campaign conceptualised by the PRH Creative Strategy team in collaboration with renowned UK design studio Anyways Creative.
The campaign promoted gifting books during the holiday season and was one of the first marketing campaigns of its kind for the publishers’ USA office.
TDC secured media coverage in key trade and design titles that celebrated the playful campaign, demonstrated its success in driving sales during the holiday period, and showcased the breadth of titles published across various genres.
The campaign resulted in coverage in It’s Nice That, The Drum, The Bookseller, Publishers’ Weekly and Digital Arts amongst others.
More recently, TDC worked on the publishers’ 2021 end-of-year campaign ‘Find Your Light’, in collaboration with Posture Media, which reflected on 2021 as a historic year for reading and literary culture.
Data and insights informed the creative campaign which looked to highlight reading trends to reveal what reading habits can tell us about our collective experience.
TDC secured coverage in a variety of publications including Creative Review, Campaign US, Creative Boom, It’s Nice That and Ad Age.
