Helen & Hard was founded in 1996 in Stavanger by Norwegian architect Siv Helene Stangeland and Austrian architect Reinhard Kropf.
The firm is known for its innovative use of wood and experimental housing projects.
At the 17th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia – the Nordic Pavilion was transformed into a full-scale section of a solid wood cohousing project designed by Helen & Hard architects in close collaboration with a group of residents.
The exhibition What We Share. A model for cohousing, curated by the National Museum of Norway, presented a framework for designing and building communities based on participation and sharing.
TDC supported Helen & Hard in communicating the stunning pavilion to a global audience via a global media outreach programme and a social media content strategy engaging their existing audience and tapping into new clout via the biennale.
The campaign secured more than 70 pieces of coverage across titles such as Monocle, Financial Times, The Guardian, Corrier dela Sera and Arch Daily, while increasing engagement during the campaign period by nearly 300% across Helen & Hard’s own channels.
