Danish Architecture Center (DAC) is an international cultural attraction for everyone who wants to experience and understand how architecture and design create the framework for our lives. Situated in the heart of Copenhagen by the inner harbour in the spectacular BLOX building, the DAC is part of the city’s Cultural Quarter.
DAC creates engaging experiences and debates about architecture, design and urban development through exhibitions, tours, events, learning and networking. While many museums focus primarily on the past, DAC looks ahead – focusing on new opportunities, innovations and ideas. They champion a transparent and collaborative approach, serving as an open platform for co-creation and democratic engagement that contributes to positive economic, social and environmentally sustainable development – both in Denmark and internationally.
In 2023, TDC supported DAC’s international public relations activities in their role as commissioners for the Danish Pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale.
Under the title ‘Coastal Imaginaries’, the Danish Pavilion explored the theme of climate adaptation and coastal landscapes of the future, interrogating the role of landscape architecture with respect to the global climate and biodiversity agenda. Devising a strategic PR campaign for the Danish Pavilion for both the lead
up to and during the Biennale, TDC worked with DAC together with multiple stakeholders and partners involved in the project to understand its narrative and objectives in detail, developing this into clear messaging that would effectively translate to the media landscape.
Through proactive media outreach at several key moments combined with on-the-ground support at the pavilion during the Biennale opening, our press office succeeded in cutting through the volume of events at the Venice Biennale to achieve coverage in key international design, architecture and national titles including Dezeen, ArchDaily, The Telegraph, New York Times and GQ Italia. We ultimately secured over 100 pieces of international coverage including news announcements, feature inclusions and several interviews, equating to a readership of 2 billion.
